This charming property is a traditional stone-built house offering a relaxing hideaway with fabulous mountain views - a charming retreat where you can relax after a day out exploring the beautiful surroundings. The Village of Patima is a listed traditional settlement and offers a great base for walkers who want to enjoy many of the local tracks and paths. Its located less than 10 minutes by car from the long sandy beach of Kavros, situated between Georgioupolis and Rethymno. The house has been beautifully restored by the charming owners Anna and Spyros who live next door in the adjoining house. 

Enter from the terrace into a large open plan living area, dining area and kitchen with original Cretan features. The room has 2 skylights which provide plenty of light as well as cool mountain air during the summer months. A wood burner with comfortable sofas provides cosy evenings at the house.

From the living room a few steps up lead into the first double bedroom, with ensuite bathroom and washing machine. A further few steps wind up to the 1st floor with an open plan spacious double bedroom and ensuite bathroom. Doors lead out from the bedroom to a large roof terrace, with chairs, loungers and jacuzzi. Here you can enjoy some sunshine therapy and a relaxing a dip with views across the Cretan countryside towards the Psiloritis Mountains. There are even sea glimpses in the distance. 

Downstairs, a pretty flower filled small walled stone courtyard is set outside the living room. Perfect for morning coffees and alfresco dining under the bougainvillea or just sit and enjoy the tranquillity of the surrounding area. 

There are many local walks to enjoy and the coastal area of Georgioupolis is just a 15-minute drive by car. Approx 6 kms down on the coast, you will find the small resort of Kavros which has numerous supermarkets, shops, tavernas and holiday amenities.

Kournas Lake with its lakeside tavernas and pedalo hire is 10kms drive whilst the stunning Venetian harbour town of Rethymon is just half an hour’s drive away.
