Why Stay in Lindos & Pefkos
Lindos is the image on every Rhodes postcard: a white village stacked beneath an ancient acropolis, with St Paul's Bay's near-circular swimming water below. Pefkos, ten minutes south, is its easy-going neighbour — a low-rise resort of beaches, tavernas and family villas without the crowds that Lindos pulls in August. Lardos village sits just inland with a long beach of its own.
Villas here split between the Lindos hillsides, with views over the bay, and the quieter lanes of Pefkos and Lardos. Either way you are on the island's south-east corner, the sunnier and calmer side, about 50 minutes from the airport.
Lindos & Pefkos at a Glance
The acropolis
Lindos' acropolis stands directly above the village — a steep 20-minute walk (or a donkey ride) to Hellenistic columns and one of the best views in the Dodecanese. Go first thing or an hour before closing to dodge both heat and crowds.
St Paul's Bay
An almost enclosed bowl of turquoise water beneath the acropolis, with two small beaches and the tiny white chapel that hosts a steady stream of weddings. Arguably the prettiest swim on Rhodes.
Pefkos' easier pace
Sandy beaches, waterfront tavernas and villa lanes in the pines. Pefkos gives you Lindos' coastline without its evening congestion — and Lindos itself is a ten-minute drive when you want it.

Who Lindos & Pefkos Suits
Couples get the postcard village and the rooftop dinners; families get Pefkos' sand and easy distances; walkers and history-minded travellers get the acropolis and the Old Town within reach. In peak season Lindos village itself gets genuinely busy at midday — villa life on the hillsides or in Pefkos is precisely the way to enjoy it on your own terms.
Getting there and around
Rhodes airport (RHO) is on the island's north-west side, about 50–55 minutes' drive; direct UK flights run through the season. Transfers are straightforward to pre-book, and the east-coast road down is an easy drive if you are hiring a car from arrival.
Good to know
Lindos, Pefkos and Lardos all have supermarkets, pharmacies and ATMs; Lindos village is pedestrianised, so you park in the lots above and walk in. A car is useful for beaches and the Old Town, though within the triangle of villages taxis and even the local bus cover the basics.
