Sea views are not one thing. The useful questions are where the view is seen from and what stands between the terrace and the water.

Hillside and clifftop villas trade a walkable beach for the big view: sunsets, passing boats and a pool terrace that feels suspended over the water. Expect drives to the sand and check the road to the villa if steep approaches matter to your party.

What to check before choosing a sea view villa

A view label cannot tell you what you will actually see from the sun lounger. The useful questions are specific.

  • Where is the view seen from: the pool terrace, the bedrooms, or one balcony?
  • What sits between the villa and the water: open hillside, rooftops, a road?
  • Which way does the terrace face, for morning light or sunset?
