Description

The house is one of the traditional cave houses of Santorini. It is curved in the Santorinian Volcanic soil , which keeps the house warm in winter and cool during summer.
The average temperature is about 19-20 degrees Celcius.

Santorini might be famous for its whitewahed domed houses but it is also known for the traditional mainland villages cave houses. The cave houses - the so called "yposkafa" in Greek - can be found in many of the traditional villages in Santorini. They are functional and of great historical and architectural interest, as it is a living proof of the earlier years local construction.

Messaria village is located in the middle of the island and just 3km from Fira town (the capital) , at the crossroad, if someone wants to go to all destinations in the island including the airport, port, beaches , other villages and the famous Santorini's caldera (volcano view).

The house was fully renovated in 2018 using modern, up to date materials without losing its original form.

As you enter the property you find the living room area , then you enter the master bedroom with the queen size bed , on the left hand side you find the bathroom and on the right hand side the kitchen. You will also find a washing machine (clothes). Moving on you will find the second bedroom with one single bed. The fourth guest can sleep in the living room area, where one of the couches can be converted into a single bed. Please note that the couches have single bed mattresses, ensuring a comfortable sleep experience.

The living room and the second bedroom have air condition units which cover all the areas of the cave house.
