The buildings step down the hillside in several levels, so the villas look across the bay towards the Venetian fortress of Assos and out over the open Ionian Sea.
Assos itself is a small traditional settlement with taverns on the quayside, and the celebrated sweep of Myrtos Beach lies a few kilometres down the same coast.
The owners built Braunis Horio as a small village of individual villas rather than a single shared property. Each villa carries its own name and its own decoration, drawn from the traditional architecture of the Ionian Islands with modern touches, and each is booked on its own. The owners list no communal facilities; every pool and terrace belongs to one villa.

Assos is a small traditional settlement of around one hundred permanent residents, with taverns on the quayside and a handful of village services; it is the closest place to eat and drink. For larger shops and services, Argostoli is the island capital, which the owner states is 40 km away by road.
Kefalonia Airport is around 29 km away by straight-line calculation, south of Argostoli. The owner states that Assos is reached from Argostoli by car or bus over a 40 km road that follows some of the most dramatic coastal scenery on the island.
Myrtos Beach is around 4 km away by straight-line calculation on the same stretch of coast. Fiskardo, the harbour village at the northern tip of the island, is around 9.5 km away by straight-line calculation.
