Thirteen private stays. One coastal setting.

Braunis Horio is a complex of privately booked villas on a rocky promontory beside the village of Assos, on the north west coast of Kefalonia. Each villa is a separate stay with its own name, its own character and its own pool, terraces and sea view. The buildings step down the hillside in several levels, so the villas look across the bay towards the Venetian fortress of Assos and out over the open Ionian Sea.

Assos itself is a small traditional settlement with taverns on the quayside, and the celebrated sweep of Myrtos Beach lies a few kilometres down the same coast.

  • Thirteen individually bookable private villas
  • A private pool, terrace and sea view at every villa
  • Set on the promontory beside Assos village
  • Myrtos Beach a few kilometres down the coast
  • Car hire and private transfers arranged by the owners

A villa village above Assos

The owners built Braunis Horio as a small village of individual villas rather than a single shared property. Each villa carries its own name and its own decoration, drawn from the traditional architecture of the Ionian Islands with modern touches, and each is booked on its own. The owners list no communal facilities; every pool and terrace belongs to one villa.

Assos village and its harbour on the Kefalonian coast

Assos on the doorstep

Assos is one of the most photographed villages in Kefalonia, a small settlement of around one hundred permanent residents beneath its Venetian fortress. The harbour, the quayside taverns and the winding village paths sit around the bay from the villas, and the fortress hill fills the view across the water.

Terraces above the Ionian

The villas stand in stepped levels on a rocky promontory, so the terraces and pools face the water with nothing in front of them. Sailing boats anchor in the clear bay below, and the open Ionian Sea fills the horizon beyond its mouth.
